Q1. What is Bestway recalling?

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada, Bestway is voluntarily recalling above-ground pools 48 inches or taller in height with compression straps running on the outside of the vertical legs of the pool, which were sold between 2008 and 2024. The recall repair consists of a rope that will maintain the structural integrity of the pool (a function previously served by the compression strap).

Products that have been recalled include the following Bestway- and Coleman-branded models:
  • Power Steel
  • Steel Pro
  • Coleman Power Steel

The products included in this recall were manufactured between 2008 and June 2024. Bestway stopped manufacturing and selling the impacted above-ground pools in June 2024. All Bestway above-ground pools 48 inches or taller in height manufactured since June 2024 have compression straps running on the inside of the vertical support legs.


Q2. How can I tell if my pool is affected?

The pool brand names and liner SKU numbers are printed on the pool liner on the outside of the pool. You can use the liner SKU number to confirm whether your pool is impacted by clicking the “Check Product” button on the main page.


Q3. What is not included in the recall?

Pool models 48 inches or taller in height with compression straps running on the inside of the vertical legs, including Power Steel, Steel Pro, and Coleman Power Steel models for the 2025 Season, as well as for the 2026 Season and beyond, are NOT included in this recall.

Pool models with wall heights less than 48 inches are also NOT included in this recall.


Q4. What is the problem with the pool?

The compression strap that surrounds the outside of the pool legs may create a foothold, which could allow a child to gain access to the pool and create a potential drowning hazard.


Q5. I am concerned about this compression strap creating a foothold for my child, can I just cut it off my pool now?

No, the compression strap maintains the structural integrity of the pool. The repair kit eliminates the need for the compression strap. Please wait until you have installed the free repair kit before you remove the strap from your pool. If you are concerned in the meantime, you should ensure that children cannot access the pool unattended or, alternatively, drain the pool until the repair can be installed.


Q6. How do I participate in the recall?

If you currently own or use a Bestway above-ground pool 48 inches or taller in height with compression straps on the outside of the vertical legs of the pool, please return to the main page and follow the instructions.

  • If your pool is affected by the recall, you will be asked to register for a repair kit, which will be shipped to you free of charge.
  • You can also contact Bestway toll-free at 844-593-4003 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST Monday through Friday.

While you wait for your repair kit, you should ensure that children cannot access the pool unattended or, alternatively, drain the pool until the repair can be installed.


Q7. I no longer have the receipt or order confirmation for my pool, or it was provided to me as a gift/I am not the purchaser. Can I still take advantage of the recall?

Yes, you can still obtain a free repair kit without a receipt or order confirmation. Please return to the main page and follow the instructions.


Q8. Can I register more than one/multiple pools?

Yes, if you own multiple affected pools, complete the registration process for one pool to get your confirmation number. To register additional pools, call Customer Service at 844-593-4003 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST Monday through Friday with your confirmation number available.

Note: Do not submit multiple registrations through the website. This may result in all registrations being cancelled.


Q9. Can I take the unit back to the store where I purchased it?

No. Do not return your unit to the store or seller from which you purchased it. Bestway can only verify affected product and offer you a recall remedy directly. In order to take advantage of the recall remedy, please return to the main page and follow the instructions.


Q10. How long will it take to get my free repair kit?

You will be provided with information and updates on shipping when you register. We expect that in most cases your free repair kit will ship in about 5-7 business days after request.


Q11. If I still have questions, how can I get additional information about the recall?
